On Friday August 22, 2008, Gov. Rick Perry went to West Brook High School in Beaumont to sign legislation known as “Ashley’s and Alicia’s law.”

Past bills have failed, but when the parents and friends of Ashley Brown and Alicia Bonura who were killed in a bus accident, lobbied the Legislature, this time there was success.
